Time of Admission

September 2017 or April 2018

Admission Qualification

A person who has graduated or is expected to graduate from a Japanese university.
A person who has completed or is expected to complete sixteen years of regular curricular studies abroad.

Admission Requirements

  1. Application Form for Admission (prescribed form)
  2. Transcript of Scholastic Record issued by the graduate school attended
  3. Certificate of Proficiency in the Japanese Language by the instructor or equivalent
  4. Application Fee: JPY30,000

Period of Application

Only applications postmarked between June 22 (Thu) and June 29 (Thu), 2017 will be accepted.
* Applicants should obtain his/her prospective guidance professor's informal agreement before application

Selection Process

(1) Written Examination

  1. Foreign Languages---English (TOEFLE-ITP)
  2. General Subjects--- Choose 3 out of 6 questions from 4 fields:
    Chemistry (2 questions) , Biology (2 questions),
    Mathematics (1 question), Physics (1 question),
    Be sure to choose at least 1 question from the field of Chemistry
  3. Special Subjects---Choose 3 out of the following 11 questions from 6 fields:
    Organic Chemistry (3 questions),
    Biochemistry (3 questions),
    Physical Chemistry (2 questions),
    Pharmacology (1 question),
    Pharmaceutics (1 question),
    Analytical Chemistry (1 question)
(2) Oral Examination

Written Examination: August 17 (Thu) & 18 (Fri), 2017
Oral Examination: August 18 (Fri), 2017

(1) Expenses

Academic fees are charged: JPY282,000 as admission fee and JPY535,800 (Master'sProgram) as annual tuition Living expenses including housing, daily living, incidental expenses, and study expenses range from JPY100,000 to JPY120,000 a month. Since it is very difficult to obtain a scholarship after students' arrival in Japan, students are strongly advised to be financially prepared for the expenses before coming to Japan.

(2) Acquisition of Resident Status

Those wishing to enter this university is requested to acquire the qualification to stay in Japan as an international student, namely the qualification of "college student" as provided for in the Japanese law named "Immigration-Control and Refugee-Recognition Act". When an applicant comes to the University for submitting the application or taking the entrance examination, he/she may come with qualification other than "college student" (i.e. "tourist"), but when returning for the entrance procedures after having passed the examination, it is necessary for him/her to have the qualification of college student".

A person who has been awarded or is expected to be awarded a Master's degree from a Japanese university or a university abroad.

Admission Requirements

  2. Synopsis of past research results, reasons for applying and research plan
  3. Master's thesis: Two copies in Japanese or English
  4. Abstract of thesis: Two copies (3000 words or less in Japanese or English)
  5. Transcript of Scholastic Record issued by the graduate school attended
  6. Certificate of Proficiency in the Japanese Language by the instructor or equivalent
  7. Application Fee: JPY30,000

*Applicants of April entrance who passed Oral Examination will have to submit (3) and (4)

  1. Those who have completed or are expected to complete a 6-year program in pharmacy at a university by March 31st, 2017.
  2. Those who have completed or expect to complete a 6-year program in medicine, dentistry or veterinary medical sciences, at a university by March 31st, 2017.
  3. Those who have completed or expect to complete by March 31st, 2017, 18 years of school education in a foreign country, with a final degree in pharmacy, medicine, dentistry or veterinary medical sciences.
