Advising & Counseling Service
The advising room offers advisory assistance and provides a
counseling
service, and the services in Japanese or English are available to all
international
students & foreign researchers to
help make their university or Japanese experience comfortable and
successful. Advising and counseling may be about
matters
concerning studies and Japanese language, or financial problems and
other problems related to visas, housing, side job, family, and
cultural or personal difficulties.
Japanese Language Class
Starting from September of 1994, the advising room offers
Japanese
language class (beginning and intermediate) for learning daily survival
Japanese as well as basic technical Japanese.
More advanced classes to focus on advanced technical Japanese
for science majors are in the planning stage.
The present schedules are as follows:
Beginning: Tuesday & Thursday 1:30`4:00 p.m.
Intermediate: Tuesday & Thursday 4:00`6:00 p.m.
The formal agreement for the academic exchange between
Shenyang
Pharmaceutical University, China and Graduate School of Pharmaceutical
Sciences, the University of Tokyo was signed in February 1997.
Our
Graduate School has accepted three short-term students from Shenyang
Pharmaceutical
University up to now, and this year for the first time, three Japanese
graduate students were selected to be sent to China. The advising
room is coordinating this progam.
Others (projects & events)
Since the opening of the advising room, it has been used for
the exchange of a wide range of information. To promote excange
among international students and also between international students
and Japanese students, several events such as an orientation tea party,
an educational trip, and a social gathering for international students
& foreign researchers are planned this year.
