| Dear Yuichi Congratulations to the AAPS in recognizing your outstanding achievements and selecting you as the first non-US recipient of the Distinguished Pharmaceutical Scientist Award. Your contributions to the internationalization of the pharmaceutical sciences are enormous, not only through your exemplary scholarship (most recently recognized by your inclusion in the ISI most highly cited scientists categorization), but also through your leadership of the discipline through your activities as Chairman of the Board of Pharmaceutical Sciences of FIP and as Chair of the PSWC2004 organizing committee, in addition to your leadership positions in ASPTJ and ISSX. Now, if only that smile could become a little broader, you will fulfill all of the achievement goals that I share with you as my friend, colleague and co-conspirator.
