It was with great personal pleasure that I learned about your selection
for the AAPS Distinguished Pharmaceutical Scientist Award. Rarely was this
done with such unanimous consensus among all our colleagues. Your scientific
productivity, spurred on by innovative ideas and tenacity, is unmatched
- I just wish I could have a portion of these talents. Yet, your selection
has another dimension to it. For the first time was the recipient of the
highest AAPS award a resident of a country other than of the USA. This
is an important step for the AAPS in acknowledging the international nature
of science, and the ring of eminent scientists working together as colleagues
and friends. You serve as an example for future generations to honor all
who are deserving, and to overcome boundaries among peoples across the
globe. |
